What is mediation?

Mediation is another form of alternative dispute resolution, where the parties come together in front of a mediator, and each side will be able to present their case very briefly by an opening statement. Then the parties separate out of the room and it's the mediator that tries to get each party to move from their position, so that a settlement or a resolution can be reached. It may be somewhere in the middle, or it may be somewhere close to one side, but it's something that the parties will come together and agree to.
