What is no fault insurance?

No-fault insurance is a required coverage in Florida. It is personal injury protection also called PIP for short, P-I-P and what that does is that it doesn't matter who's at-fault in your car accident, your own insurance company pays 80% of your medical bills and 60% of your loss wages. A lot of people are confused and they think, "Why would my own insurance company pay?" That's the no-fault system in Florida so it doesn't matter who's at-fault in the accident, your own insurance coverage covers you 80% for your medicals, 60% for your loss wages, up to $10,000.

There are other insurance coverages that can cover you if you are in a car accident so I urge you to be sure and speak to a personal injury attorney if you are unfortunately involved in a car accident.
